permanent new situations keep the dogs mind healthy
It's always the same simple story if you go out and just want to take a look. Within seconds the cute little puppies let all ice melt away same to your inner restrictions. What seems absolutely impossible before the visit turned immediately into a warm imagination of at least take one of them with you at home. Even better when you have your own puppies "walking on two legs" that can never get enough of the puppies. Children are often less diplomatic and start to persuade you to take the whole litter back home.
In terms of Amba it was a quit close story. The meaningful part was
that my dog decided herself for a hunter and not the other way around.
She came to me and showed much interest and started to examine me. Below
her cheek she had a whit sign looking like a horseshoe what I
interpreted as a good token and that was it. The dog had chosen his
master and himself had his first dog. Amba vom Großen Meer.
This is definitely not an expression of a bad
conscience at all. This chair had to bite the dust because despite his
legs he didn't managed to get fast enough to his chair herd and the
strong table. Very sad story. Unfortunately and maybe the worst part of
it is that mistress as a consequence locked the big game (my shoes) away
from the brave shorthaired. Furthermore we had to hunt pig ears and deer
feet. Well...
It' not only early-summer that comes along with warm
weather and nice moments it's also my young she-dog that is becoming
more and more lovely. The future duty in mind this of course doesn't
matter so much. It's the inner qualities that count. In this context
Amba shows good progress and develops herself to a intent obeyant and
always interested dog.
The master is reading often in his favorite book "Tabel" to smarten-up
himself, to avoid stupid mistakes and to reach the destination of an
elaborated hunting dog. For this it's necessary that the dog is
confronted with different situations, new impressions and challenges
that are mastered together to tighten the connection between . Once a
while the young dog gets awkward. Here it is important to separate
between ignorance and pure rebellion. Consequence is one of the major
tools to cure the dog.
Sommer comes and brings long days, warm temperatures, swimming and young foxes. The latter not in our own eastfrisian countryside but at a friends place in northern Hessia were there's also boar scent, coons and many more. Besides the attractions we work continuously towards obedience and the typical hunting disciplines. Sometimes progress is good sometimes the world turns slower. Patience and endurance are the appropriate strategy. If one step isn't understood we return to solid ground implementing as much motivation as possible in the learning process. Important: always end up with something definitely positive for the dog. More and more I take her with me when going out for serious hunting.
The ability to point to is well elaborated. In the field we never needed
the long leash because the commands . Die Anlage zum Vorstehen ist gut
ausgeprägt. We never used to long fieldline because all commands were
properly understood and worked out and further the fair way of working
together became our standard way of things getting to be done. In my
understanding many sides of this cooperation are turning out on a clear
hierarchy and loyalty of the dog in his master. How captivating and
sweet a smell of a hare can be we experienced on day in the woods as
Missy got off and didn't came back for minutes. When she came back one
sincerly feel anger and embarrassment but please stay cool and try to be
as pleasing as possible because she came back! Don't forget: nobody's
perfect. One day in the field she points and we found the carcass of a
dear.
Amba's brothers and sisters carry the same patience and hunting
intelligence and of course were keen on trials, too. Her sisters Ayka
and Andra passed in the same year the two day trial VGP with a first
price. Both received top ranks in a physical assessment. Except of
a brother who serves as a drug tracking dog all others serve well in
hunting.
Amba's mother is Benja von der Broklands-Au, a dog of a well known kennel
who breeds in a quite uncompromising way tough-minded individuals. At
the same time Benja is the foundation female of the kennel from Vom-Großen-Meer.
Both kennel names with the typically and representatively water bodies
in mind here in East Friesland and same to Schleswig-Holstein. Water is
omnipresent and known for our dogs from the beginning and drives the
passion of the dogs for water. In the information sheet for puppy owners
Benja (braun, D1, S1, VGP2 ÜF, IKP1, HN, HD A2, V3) is described as
passionate in the water and with a strong will in finding. During
finding and retrieving in water or field she proved of great value.
Furthermore she is obedient, child friendly and social with other dogs.
Amba's father, Olaf vom Upstalsboom (braun, D1, VJP 68P, S1, VGP1 ÜF,
HN, HD A1, SG2), derives from one of oldest kennels of East Friesland
and is a calm and and intelligent dog who pleases through his
captivating water work a fine nose and sharp wit. His technique is
always well balanced and meets the requirements of the
very situation.
